LDC experts to help shape national dialogue at 2026 Obesity & Weight Management Alliance conferences

The upcoming 2026 Obesity & Weight Management Alliance UK conference series will bring together leading clinicians, researchers and policymakers to explore innovative, evidence‑based approaches to tackling obesity.

Chaired by Professor Melanie Davies, Co-Director of the Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC), one of the UK’s most respected voices in diabetes and weight‑management research, the events will provide a national platform for sharing best practice and strengthening obesity care across the healthcare system.

LDC’s expertise will be represented by speakers Dr Dimitris Papamargaritis and Dr Louisa Herring, who will be speaking about ‘Remission in type 2 diabetes - Definition and practical strategies’ and ‘Lifestyle interventions - Physical activity and digital health solutions’ respectively. Professor Davies will share recent evidence and trial highlights in type 2 diabetes and obesity.

Events will take place across London, Manchester, and Birmingham, offering free CPD‑accredited education through case studies, panel discussions and sessions shaped by the latest clinical evidence.

LDC, also known for its award-winning education programmes in diabetes and obesity care, will also be present throughout the conference series, providing healthcare professionals with access to training resources developed to support high‑quality care and improve patient outcomes.

Together, these events will showcase the strength of collaboration across the obesity‑care community, with LDC contributing its expertise as part of a wider national conversation aimed at improving health outcomes for individuals living with obesity.
